Cows in control client FEES AND SERVICES

PROGRAM ENTRY FEE

The Program Entry Fee for consulting services offered by Cows in Control shall be payable annually in advance and calculated based on the expected volume of livestock to be sold annually by the Client at the time of signing this Agreement.

Fee Calculation

The Program Entry Fee is $5 per head of expected cattle marketed, plus applicable tax, subject to:

  • A minimum base client fee of $500
  • A maximum fee of $3,500

The Program Entry Fee provides a comprehensive suite of services designed to support marketing, risk management, and cattle feeding decisions.

Market Intelligence & Analysis

  • Market analysis and strategic guidance
  • Weekly market updates and alerts
  • Ongoing analysis and personalized recommendations

Risk Management & Strategy

  • Education on hedging and livestock insurance programs
  • Hedging strategies and risk management tools

Cattle Feeding Support

  • Assistance developing on-ranch cattle feeding strategies
  • Support with third-party cattle feeding opportunities

Communications & Insights

  • Monthly and weekly newsletters
  • Regular client updates and alerts

Education & Events

  • Discounts on workshops and events

THE SERVICE MODEL 

Clients receive continuous annual access to Cows in Control for the following services, including but not limited to:

  • Consultation and support for questions related to markets and livestock
  • Strategies for bred cattle, calves, feeders, and fed cattle
  • Assistance setting up hedging and insurance accounts and developing hedging strategies
  • Education on hedging and risk management tools and how they work
  • Guidance on marketing decisions, offer sheets, and sale terms for direct sales
  • Review and analysis of ranch strategies, including custom arrangements, leases, purchases, and other operational decisions
  • Evaluation of current and future livestock values, including basis, slide, heifer discounts, and related factors
  • Ongoing communication of market changes and emerging risks affecting prices, risk exposure, or profitability
  • Communication via phone, email, and text, with in-person visits available upon request
  • Inclusion in client updates and alerts, plus access to the free monthly Watertrough newsletter
  • Option to apply for instant text alerts
  • Open access for questions, discussion, and strategic brainstorming at any time

 

OTHER FEES AND SERVICES

Cows in Control also offers additional services not included in the Program Entry Fee. These services may be subject to additional charges. Please refer to the Services page for details.
